PROGRAM REGISTER

Dear Sir/Madam,

You are very welcome to participate in the 5th International FORS Conference.

The Board of the FORS Association is pleased to invite you to the 5th International Conference titled: "Recycling of the end-of-life vehicles in Poland and in the world". The conference will take place on Wednesday and Thursday - September 13th and 14th at the AIRPORT HOTEL OKĘCIE in Warsaw at Komitetu Obrony Robotników 24 street.

The four previous conferences were held in 2016-2019, gathering hundreds of guests from Poland and abroad, numerous representatives of institutions related to the broadly understood automotive industry and representatives of government administration. After a four-year break caused by Covid, we are back with a proposal of meetings in an international group again. At the same time we hope that we will repeat the big audience and interest in that Conference like in the previous ones.

This time, the leitmotif will be a review of national end-of-life vehicle recycling systems and thanks to the numerous participation of foreign guests, we will also be able to get to know the systems from the Netherlands, France, England, Spain, Nigeria, the United States, South Korea, Japan, Mexico, Belgium and Ukraine. We will start by presenting our national Polish system, and then we will gradually move away, getting to know the solutions binding European countries and than Asian and American countries. When discussing each system, general characteristics of the end-of-life vehicle market in a given country will be presented. The topics of the “grey economy”, the role of individual operators in the recycling system, the market of parts from the dismantling of electric and hybrid vehicles, theft of catalysts, problems with the management of waste from dismantling vehicles will also be discussed. Thanks to this, we will be able to see how individual solutions used in different countries affect the development of the industry, the size of the shadow-grey economy and what are the main problems, as well as the directions of development of the industry. We will also try to identify the challenges faced by the industry in fact of the changing market (increasing hybrid and electric vehicles), as well as legal changes planned in the European Union in the area of vehicle recycling.

All presentations of the national systems will be prepared according to one scheme (topics - which we attached for you to view) - which will allow for the systematization of the information provided and facilitate comparisons in individual thematic blocks.

Scheme – topics.pdf

In addition to the overview of national systems, we have planned several other topics. We invited a representative of the international organization EGARA - associating organizations of car recyclers from various countries for a short presentation of their activities. Also, in connection with the planned changes in EU regulations in the area of recycling of end-of-life vehicles, we’ve invited a representative of the European Commission to present the direction of changes and planned solutions, which will soon also have to be implemented in the legal systems of individual EU countries. Undoubtedly, an interesting point of the Conference will be the presentation concerning the use of drones in the recycling industry and more. Those who sell used parts will might be interested in the subject of certification of companies selling parts considered sensitive (e.g. airbags) or the innovative use of batteries removed from electric vehicles.

During the Conference there will also be presentations of companies offering products and services dedicated to disassembly stations and the scrap industry.

As in previous years, we would visit the dismantling station – now in Łochów place - which is located 59 km from Warsaw, where you will get familiar with the standard of the station operating in Poland. During the tour, equipment for station equipment will be presented - which cannot be presented in conference rooms. We will end the tour with a joint feast, local fiesta.

On the second day of the Conference, we will conclude the debate with most interesting and effective solutions in the fight against the shadow economy, as well as those that support the development and image of the vehicle recycling industry. We will also talk about the future of the industry in the context of the changing market, as well as the challenges of the new legislation.

The conference we will end with a special gala dinner during which we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the FORS Association. We promise nice accents and memories - especially people who created the history of our association.

All interested in participating in the V International FORS Conference are cordially invited. During the Conference we provide simultaneous translation into Polish and English.
